Applications to the University of Wisconsin Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery residency program are accepted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) sponsored by the Association of Academic Departments of Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery.

Selection Criteria
The resident selection committee reviews applications, assigns scores to each applicant and ranks them based on:
- Letters of recommendation
- Medical school record
- Research experience
- Extracurricular activities

2025–2026 Interview Dates
The University of Wisconsin will be holding interviews in person on these dates:
- Friday, January 9, 2026 (morning and afternoon sessions), with a social event on the evening of Friday, January 9
- Monday, January 12, 2026 (morning and afternoon sessions), with a social event on the evening of Sunday, January 11
Notification Timeline
Our residency program follows the Society of University Otolaryngologists Head & Neck Surgeons’ and the Otolaryngology Program Directors Organization’s recommendations for common interview offer dates and provides interview notifications on these dates:
Friday, November 7, 2025, 3–4 p.m. CST
- Selected applicants receive an initial notification and invitation to interview with the University of Wisconsin
Tuesday, November 11, 2025, 1 p.m. CST
- Selected applicants receive a link to select their preferred interview sessions or decline the invitation
Wednesday, November 12, 2025
- Interview session assignments are sent for acceptance by interviewees
- Waitlist confirmation emails are sent to candidates who are on the waitlist to fill open interview slots if/when available
- Notifications are sent to candidates who are no longer being considered
Friday, November 14, 2025–Friday, January 2, 2026
- If interview slots become available, they will be offered to candidates on the waitlist. Only candidates on the waitlist are eligible to fill open slots

End time: 2 p.m. (approx.)
